Offsite Purchase
Refers to wine shipments that are purchased by the consumer through wine clubs, phone, fax or online means. Allows wine shippers to ship to consumers who order wine from wineries, retailers, and online sites and have them delivered to the consumer’s home or office. There are state and quantity restrictions on wine allowed to be shipped, the payment of state taxes, and the requirements for labeling and other procedures. Please ask us for complete details about the regulations for your home state.
Onsite Purchase
In November 2002 President George W. Bush signed the Appropriations Authorization Act, allowing consumers to visit a winery or their tasting rooms, make an onsite purchase of wine, and have the package delivered by common carrier to the consumer’s home state. There are state and quantity restrictions based on the consumer’s home state laws. Please ask us about the regulations for your state.
